Saffron is a spice obtained from the stigmas of the flower of Crocus sativus Linnaeus, commonly known as Rose of Saffron.
A therapeutic plant, saffron is considered as an antispasmodic, which helps in digestion & increases appetite. In the past saffron has been used as a drug to cure infections like flu, depression and as a sedative.
